When Devante and Yaz decided to tie the knot, they knew exactly where their hearts were leading them—back home to New Zealand. Although they now reside in Australia, celebrating their wedding next to Lake Rotorua was especially meaningful for Devante, who grew up surrounded by this stunning landscape.
As an Auckland wedding photographer, weddings like Devante and Yaz's remind me why I love what I do. The day began beautifully, with Devante revealing her bridal look to her bridesmaids, prompting emotional gasps and happy tears. Dressed like a Māori queen in a stunning tiara and a traditional Korowai, Devante's connection to her heritage shone brightly.
The ceremony was deeply moving, beginning with an emotional Karanga to welcome Devante. Friends and family had flown in from Australia and other parts of the world, making this gathering all the more special. One of the most memorable moments was the haka, performed passionately both during the ceremony and later again at the vibrant reception.
Heartfelt speeches from family and friends highlighted how perfectly matched Devante and Yaz are, sharing touching and humorous stories that resonated deeply with everyone present.
As the evening progressed, the reception quickly turned into an unforgettable party. The dance floor stayed packed, fueled by fantastic music and even some surprise live rap performances. The energy and excitement were contagious, ensuring guests danced and celebrated well into the night.
