When the lights shut off and the music fades, when the gown is hung and the flowers wilt, what you'll be left with are the memories of your perfect day and the wedding photos that remind you of those small moments and details that you might otherwise forget. I'm bias of course but I always think that if there's one thing worth spending a little more on, its your wedding photography and wedding videography. Because those are the things you're going to look back and smile on and to share with the little ones some day. Because there's nothing more important than memories.

If a picture can paint a thousand words, imagine how many words a video will paint. Yes wedding photos are beautiful and of course they're much easier to just flip through on a phone but there are soooooo many things that a photo can't capture or at least not in full. The sounds, the atmosphere, the excitement and emotions as you go for that first kiss, the craziness and the moments on the dance floor and so much more! And that's why wedding videography is worth every penny, it's more than just a "bonus" to the photos, it's a story all on its own, and this humble Auckland wedding videographer would love to help you tell yours.

Daniel and his team were incredible!

They spent time getting to know us and understand what we wanted for the wedding photography and videography, and they created something so much better! Their vision, skill, and friendliness have been amazing, and truly helped to make our day the best day ever.

We now have the perfect mementos to remember the day, we are so glad we chose Dear White Wedding Photography and Videography and have had so many friends and family enquire about the photographers because the work is so good!

Frequently Asked Questions

How many photos do you take during a full day of wedding photography?

We usually take about 5000-12000 photos during a day depending on how many shooters and how long we're there for. Also depends on how crazy the day is. Having additional cultural ceremonies or events would mean extra shots of course.

I will then take these photos and condense them down to the creme of the crop. The best and most important shots that will help you remember your big day and you'll receive 700+ fully edited photos for a full day's shoot.

How do you deliver my wedding photo and wedding film?

You'll get a personal online gallery for your photos through a link. This way you can share these with your family and friends just by giving them the link. The full gallery is private and only those with the link will be able to find it.

For your wedding highlight film, it will be uploaded to Youtube for you to watch and share with your family and friends. A separate full quality version (Youtube isn't exactly the best in video quality :P) will also be available for you to download through a seperate link afterwards.

Do you have wedding albums , prints, canvas, etc. that we can order?

Yap, definitely! We've partnered up with one of NZ (and I dare say, world's) best fine arts printing company to design and create albums and prints of the highest quality. Let me know if you're interested and I'd be happy to bring samples to show you over a coffee.

How do you manage to do wedding photograph & film at the same time?

I don't. I have a team of awesomes who shoot in my style and we all have cameras glued to our eyes to capture those special moments. This way we'll never miss a beat whether its photos or film for times like when you're walking down the aisle or that first kiss! I do however switch between photo and video as I see fit during the wedding party and couples photo session.

How many people will be shooting on the day?

There's 1 wedding photographer in the package but if you'd like, a second photographers can come along to capture extra angles and memories.

For the film, it will depend on how many guests there will be as well as how the venues are set up. It will usually be just a single videographer but if I feel that there's a need for it, I will bring an assistant to make sure the day goes smoothly.

Do I really need a second photographer?

If you can fit it into your budget, I would definitely recommend it! By having a second shooter, there's more angles being captured of whatever is happening, whether its you walking down the aisle, the cake cutting or the first dance, more angles = more photos! It also ensures that more of the day is captured, after all, I can't be everywhere at once :P The getting ready for example is one of the places where having a second shooter really shines and we can cover both the guys and girls getting ready at the same time. Our second shooters are all amazing wedding photographers in their own right but shoot in my style so that you can be sure that the photos that you receive are the best of the best!

What food do you require?

I'll eat anything :P But at the end of the day, the team would really appreciate a hot meal as we would have been running around non-stop all day! If you're having a buffet styled meal, we'd love to be able to grab a plate and get in line with everyone. Otherwise, most venues have special "vendor meals" that they can provide for wedding photographers.

Where do you shoot?

I'm an Auckland wedding photographer so I definitelly shoot in Auckland :D But to be honest, there's no where I wouldn't shoot! We've been all over the country from the Northlands to the Southlands, Tauranga to Queenstown and everywhere between as well as overseas!

How much is the deposit and when is the rest of the $ due?

I take a 20% deposit at the time of booking and the rest of it due one month out from the wedding.

Where can I get more advice on weddings??

Our Blog would be an awesome start!

Do you shoot elopements? What's the cost?

Definitely! Love them in fact! I've always got a soft spot for small intimate elopements. Whether its a small backyard Auckland elopement with your closest family and friends or a Queenstown elopement on top of a snowy peak with just the two of you, I'm there! Costs start at $2600 but will differ of course so get in touch so I can know exactly what you're after and come up with a custom wedding elopement quote :)

What style's your shooting style?

I like being in the thick of things where the action is! I want to be at your big day as a friend and not just a wedding photographer and videographer! So that being said, its super important for me to get to know you before the day either with coffee or even zooms if there's a bit of distance between us :P At other times I'm a total ninja if I feel there are moments that I want to see organically unfold. Armed with a long lens I'll stalk away in the corner waiting for dad's tear to drop without him even knowing I'm there. I don't do much posing except for couples shoots in which I'll let you know exactly what you need to do so you'll never have to feel awkward in front of the lens!

Why do you travel so much?

Being able to shoot in different locations in different venues (or just the middle of nowheres) always give me inspiration. Whether its an Auckland wedding or a Queenstown Elopement, each shoot helps me improve both my work and myself!

If you're looking for paparazzi for the day then we’re definitely not the right people for you, BUUUUUUUT if you're wanting someone that's high on life (and self-diagnosed crazy), can crack a joke and is more of a friend then just a photographer, then look no further.

We love mixing and mingling with everyone and just having a good time at the party ourselves (don't be surprised if we start dancing like a mad hatter with camera in hand <3 ) and love getting to know not just the wedding party but the guests too! After all, if they're important enough to be invited to your wedding, they're important enough :P And we'll be there to capture all their shenanigans.

Not saying we’re the best wedding photographer or even the best Auckland wedding photographer this universe has ever seen but would like to think we’re pretty damn good at what we do. We’re Daniel and Joanne, we lead an awesome team of talented creatives and will be the ones recording all the little moments and memories of your big day, even the ones you might not have noticed or missed!

We love and specialise in capturing those real, intimate and raw moments as we reckon those are what will help bring back memories in the years to come! Whether it's your uncle singing "I WILL WALK 500 MILES" or your entire family doing the Macarena, those are the memories and images you'll want to share and look back on.

And when the time is right to get a few of those epic shots to hang on your wall, we'll make sure you know exactly what to do to look like you both walked right out of a magazine! No need to stress about "I look derp in front of a camera!" cause we got your back!

We’re an Auckland wedding photographer and videographer team that fly around all over New Zealand! Whether its a down to earth backyard Auckland wedding or an epic Queenstown elopement, we’re there! So, check out our work and flick us a message to see we’re the right fit for your day!
