David and Lisa's wedding was the perfect blend of tradition, family, and celebration, packed with meaningful moments from start to finish.

The day began with the couple getting ready separately to keep the suspense alive. While Lisa spent the morning with her bridesmaids and family, David was preparing himself for one of the most entertaining parts of a traditional Chinese wedding: the gate crashing games.

Before he could see his bride, David had to complete a series of challenges set by Lisa's bridesmaids and family. There was plenty of laughter, cheering, and friendly embarrassment as he proved he was worthy of retrieving his bride.

Once reunited, the couple took part in a traditional tea ceremony, serving tea to their parents and elders as a sign of respect and gratitude. It was one of the most meaningful parts of the day, filled with smiles and blessings

The celebrations then moved to Lone Pine Estate, where perfect weather provided an incredible backdrop for their wedding ceremony. Surrounded by family and friends, David and Lisa exchanged vows in a beautiful outdoor setting before officially becoming husband and wife.

As an Auckland wedding photographer, Lone Pine Estate is always a favourite venue to work at. The stunning gardens, elegant grounds, and beautiful architecture offer endless opportunities for portraits without ever needing to leave the property.

After the ceremony, we explored the estate for a relaxed editorial-inspired portrait session. With golden light and gorgeous scenery around every corner, it was the perfect opportunity to create timeless images while making the most of everything Lone Pine Estate has to offer.

Following the portraits, the celebrations moved to Lobster Palace for the reception. With more than 300 guests attending, the wedding had simply outgrown the capacity of the ceremony venue. The reception was filled with incredible food, heartfelt speeches, and an energetic atmosphere that carried through the evening.

David and Lisa's wedding was a beautiful celebration that honoured their cultural traditions while bringing together hundreds of loved ones for an unforgettable day.

If you're planning a wedding at Lone Pine Estate and looking for an Auckland wedding photographer or Auckland wedding videographer, we'd love to help capture your story.
