There’s nothing quite like a backyard wedding, especially when the “backyard” is a stunning upscale estate in Karaka, Auckland. Danielle and Ben chose the perfect sunny day to exchange their vows, surrounded by family, friends, and plenty of laughter.
From early in the morning, Danielle was glowing—thanks in no small part to the incredible talents of Sam and Ruth, who styled her hair and makeup to perfection. She looked effortlessly stunning all day long, and impressively, stayed gorgeous even through a wild night of dancing!
One of the sweetest moments of the day came early on—the first look between Danielle and her dad. It was beautifully emotional, filled with happy tears and hugs, setting the perfect tone for the day ahead. Shortly afterward, it was Ben’s turn. When he finally saw Danielle for the first time, his face lit up with the biggest smile, grinning from ear to ear. Capturing authentic moments like these is exactly why I love being an Auckland wedding photographer.
After the heartfelt ceremony, guests moved into a beautiful clear marquee filled with countless fairy lights, creating a dreamy atmosphere as evening approached. Little Doozy Bar and Little Wolf Catering did a fantastic job serving delicious food and cocktails throughout the day, keeping everyone smiling and refreshed.
As we wandered the property for couples’ portraits, we had some unexpected but adorable guests: curious cows! They happily joined our photo session and even attempted to take a bite from Danielle’s beautiful bouquet. These playful moments added a fun and spontaneous touch to the afternoon, and of course, resulted in some truly unique photographs.
Ben also managed to add his own personal flair to the day by posing for some photos with one of the incredible Lancia Martini race cars. These cool, memorable shots reflected his personality perfectly and provided another fun highlight for the day.
Once the formalities wrapped up, the marquee transformed into an epic dance floor, with friends and family showcasing their best moves under a sky of sparkling fairy lights. The energy was incredible—truly a night to remember, full of joy, laughter, and endless dancing.
