Weddings reflect a couple's personality, and when it comes to Elmie and Brandon, and this wedding was off the hooks! Energetic, fun, and meaningful. There was an abundance of love, the tears, and the smiles, which I'm so glad I got to be there to capture. As a Auckland Wedding Photographer it's always a treat when you get asked to shoot at places like The Waterlily Garden!

The Waterlily Garden is ideal for couples who seek to step away from the bustle of the city and for more than 70 years, these gardens had gifted us the beauty of their lawns, waterfalls, lake, and ponds. And not only can you celebrate your wedding here, but you can also get ready and even stay for the night at their accommodations which makes life soooo much easier.

They had their first look at the ceremony, which made Brandon drop a couple of tears as Elmie's dad waked her down the aisle. The looks on their faces were priceless. When the time to exchange vows came, he even surprised her by reading her childhood diary that he stole as part of his vows.

And speaking of surprises, the couple, the groomsman, and I had one big surprise saved for a special lady. After the ceremony, we pretended to be testing lights and asked the groomsman and his girlfriend to pose for us and serve as models. But little did she know when the flower tossing moment arrived; Elmie turned around and handed the bouquet to her. When she looked back, her boyfriend was on one knee proposing. Suddenly, the wedding turned into a proposal, and the show was on!

Getting back to the reception, (and speaking of which, Waterlily Garden's burger station is absolutely to die for!!) Brandon had to done a helmet as he knew the group of boys would try their hardest to distract him during his speeches. And distract him they did, chanting random song while pelting him with peanuts and snacks all the way through.

Elmie and Brandon had the time of their lives; you can see their true happiness in each photo; there is nothing but authentic ear-to-ear smiles. It was such a privilege to capture the beauty of the Waterlily Gardens with this magical couple and their loved ones. I can only wish them a life with as many happy moments as their wedding day.
