What a beautiful, sweet, and momentous wedding all wrapped up in one in the beautiful Hobbiton movie set venue!
The Hobbiton venue was (extra!) special this time, as Jasmine (or Jas for short lol) is one of the lovely gardeners currently working at Hobbiton; both Jas and Michael grew up with those oh-so-fond nostalgic childhood memories of the Lord of the Rings; and they actually both worked at Hobbiton together at one point!
How special it was, then, to see this special place so woven with lovely memories and loved ones: many of the staff working the venue that night were all familiar faces, offering the familial camaraderie that beloved workmates so often do.
Buuuut let’s rewind to the start of the day, with Jas and the girls getting ready at their lovely Waikato Airbnb and Michael getting the Mill at Hobbiton for the boys!
Jas was stunning amongst the forested river in her custom gown, meanwhile Michael and his best man Nardus were putting on the moves at the Mill… Which was such a cool getting ready place for the boys! The interior of the Mill at Hobbiton is rarely open to the public, but hey, anything for this stunning couple, right?
And what a lovely first look these two had! Right on the edge of Jas’ perfectly manicured gardens (all her hard work!), with all the love and excitement of the day built up.
From there, we had a run around the whole set for our couple shoot—luckily, no need for an in-depth tour with Jas around! From South Farthing up to Bag End (home of Frodo and Bilbo Baggins, of course), Jas and Michael were just looking stunning at every corner <3
And ceremony time! Oh yeah, speaking of the “international romance” part of the story: Jas and Michael actually met online before what was originally a three month “vacation” from Michael’s home of the United States to New Zealand turned into three plus years and… getting married in New Zealand! At the Shire, no less!
Everyone was gathered for the AMAZINGLY cozy dinner and reception at The Green Dragon Inn, where all guests were treated to that cozy rustic interior, and that delectable Hobbiton food! Speeches by friends, family, and fellow Hobbiton coworkers were had, sweet treats eaten, and off the new couple went, dancing into the night.
